About
REEL'd is a curated digital collection of South African short films showcasing diverse and authentic stories from both established and emerging filmmakers.
Using Instagram as the main platform, we seek to create a collection of authentically South African short films by South Africans in the hopes to create a community of films that are educational and evoke inspiration, debate and entertainment.
The truth is, there just aren't enough South African short films online. So we want to reel in filmmakers on one platform to establish a strong palette of South African narratives for viewers to engage and communicate about our own stories.
What We're Looking For
"We want to highlight films that are of high quality and production value. Films that showcase creativity, innovation, uniqueness and authenticity."
Film Submission
We carefully review each submission for quality and authenticity. Before submitting, please read the requirements below.

Runtime
Films must be under 40 minutes in length.

Rights & Releases
All necessary rights and releases, including music, must be secured before submission.

No Screening Fees
We do not offer screening fees for films featured in the collection.
- 04
South African
Films must be made by South Africans, showcasing authentic local stories.
