REEL’d is a curated digital collection of South African short films showcasing diverse and authentic stories from both established and emerging filmmakers. Using Instagram as the main platform, we seek to create a collection of authentically South African short films by South Africans in the hopes to create a community of films that are educational and evoke inspiration, debate and entertainment. The truth is, there just aren't enough South African short films online. So we want to reel in filmmakers on one platform to establish a strong palette of South African narratives for viewers to engage and communicate about our own stories.
We want to highlight films that are of high quality and production value, films that showcase creativity, innovation, uniqueness and authenticity.
How it works
We carefully review each submission for quality control. Please be aware of the following requirements of submission:
*Films need to be UNDER 40 MINUTES *All necessary rights and releases of the film need to be secured BEFORE submission (ie.music) *We DO NOT offer screening fees for the films *Films need to be by South Africans
